"Nyugaku-shiki"

Several days ago, I attended two entrance ceremonies(入学式) with my wife. One was of my son's high school and another was of my daughter's junior high school.

My son's school is one of what is called "shin-gakkou"(進学校) that means most students go to universities or colleges. And, it is the same school that I went to about 30 year ago. I am a little bit proud of this fact.

Simpple-san,

Are you Ian-san? Thank you for leaving a comment.

lenin-san,

Thank you. I think that my son should decide his direction for his future by himself. But, as a father, I really hope that he would do his best in choice of uni or college .

Now, he says that he would like to study information techonogy at a university.

Here in America (at public schools, at least), there is no ceremony of any type. You just show up on the first day of classes. Pretty straightforward, huh?
