American State Department denounced CNN's action on ambassador's diary

The American State Department has denounced the publication and broadcast of the personal record or diary of an ambassador Christopher Stevens even after objections from his family. CNN said the public has right to know what it has learned about the fears and warnings of a terror threat before the attack on the American consulate in Libya. Ambassador Stevens and three other Americans were killed in the attack. CNN says it found the journal on the floor of what it called the "largely unsecured" consulate area. State Department official says CNN did not keep its promise to the Stevens family not to use information in the diary in its news reports. He said CNN copied the diary before telling anyone that it had taken it from the place of the attack. CNN says its findings raise questions about why the State Department did not do more to protect Ambassador Stevens. And it asked "why is the State Department now attacking the messenger ?"

Since you're not confident about your translation, please allow me to look over it a bit.

I think your translation is very good!
