China predicted to overtake as economic power by 2030

An American government report says China is expected to become the world's leading economic power by 2030. However, the report says the United States will remain a top world leader. The Office of the Director of Intelligence released the report. It predicts that Asia will lead North America and Europe combined in terms of economic power, population, military spending and technological investment. The report says the middle class will expand throughout the world. It also says that majority of the world will not be in poverty for the first time. Intelligence experts also say that half the world's population will live in areas with severe water problems by 2030.
