A traffic accident

On August 27, my wife was injured from a traffic accident. Fortunately, her injury was not serious, but she had to stay at a hosptal for three days after an operation that got rid of pieces of glasses in her arm. Now, she has returned to normal condition.

Her car, "Mitsubishi Ai"(三菱アイ), turned over and lied on its side when another car collided with it. It had very serious damage from the accident. The reason we think is that the car is "Kei"(軽) that is a small car with less than a 660 cc displacement engine. So we decided to buy a bigger car than "Ai".

The cost to repair it is higher than the present price of it so the negotiation for the accident has to be on the price.

Yesterday, we ordered a new car, "Honda Fit" at a car shop. It will come to us at the end of October.

kindle fire HD

Several days ago, I bought kindle fire HD. The device works well, so I like it very much.

Its main use is to see web sites for me, and play games for my daughter.

I  am sorry that I have no chance to use the kindle's old version that I bought about three years ago.

"Peace To High-light"

The Southern All Stars is a well-known Japanese pop rock band. Recently, they have started their activities after about a five-year rest.

Last Friday, I saw their performance on a TV program, "Music Station". I was impressed by the lyric of their new song, "Peace To High-Light", because it tells about conflicts that have happened around the world in these days.

They have a lot of hit songs that are mainly love songs, but, this time, the song deals directly with a very serious and important problem.

I think that this is a representative event that means that Japan or Japanese are in a very difficult situation in this time.

"Karaoke-box"

Yesterday, I went to a "Karaoke-box" called "Shidax" to cheer up my daughter who has a little problem in her school life in recent days.

I have not often used this kind of entertainment, but it is a good thing to go there as a method of stress reduction.

Boba "Tapioca-juice"

Last Saturday, I have learned that Boba Cafes has become popular in the United States, especially South California through the VOA Special English program. In Japan, people call drinks including boba "Tapioca juice".

I like the Tapioca juice served by "Tea Way" in Kokura station.

I am interested in the story that Asian-American have created a unique culture in the United States, but I feel something different from Japanese in them.

Vodka-based "Ume-shu" again

This year, I have tried to make vodka-based "Ume-shu"(梅酒) again. Because last year's "Ume-shu" was very good.

Last Sunday, I purchased three bottles of vodka at the "Costco" that has opened this spring in our area. I could get vodka there at relatively low price.

the music in "Kazoku-game"

Now, I have enjoyed a Japanese TV drama named "Kazoku-game"(家族ゲーム) in recent days. It is a story that a family member's relationship is collapsing after a private teacher has started his work at the house. A famous entertainer named "Sakurai Shou"(櫻井 翔), a member of a vocal group "Arashi"(嵐), has played the mysterious teacher.

Also, I like the music used in the drama. It is played by only one instrument, saxophones. Please pay attention to the music if you have a chance to watch the TV program.

The below sound is not played by saxophones, but you can feel the music from it.

bike guide for foreigner

I belong to an organization that helps foreigners to ride a bike in Japan. I guided foreigners who visited my area with their bikes in the past several years.

This time, I met an American man who had a plan to ride a bike in Japan. The main purpose of his visit to Japan is to meet with his relatives. He is a Japanese-American.

His request was to help him to buy a bike at a store. Last Sunday, I took him the store that locates near the "JR Space World" station in Yahata-Higashi ward in City of Kitakyushu. Finally, he could get a bike arranged for his needs.

I hope that he enjoys bike trip in Japan.

"fair price"

Bangladesh Building Collapse Kills More Than 500

I have learned this VOA's news yesterday by transcribing it. I always wonder if people in developed countries have bought things at "fair" price from people in developing countries when I hear this kind of news.

In capitalism, people want to get less costly things. But, there is "proper price" for things that is dealt in market, I think. It means that Westerners should buy things with good money that support people's life in developing countries.

"Onga-gawa Gyodou Kouen 2"

Today, I took a video of "Onga-gawa Gyodou Kouen" riding bike along it.  I hope you can feel it by seeing this movie.
